The first Village Tavern was established in 1984, near Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.

The concept has achieved high standards in the upscale casual dining segment and has proven to be successful as evidenced by the excellent operating and financial performance of each Village Tavern restaurant. The success has replicated itself in a variety of restaurant sizes and locations, reinforcing the scalability and transferability of the concept to the marketplace.

The Village Tavern concept, an idea that has evolved over the company’s twenty-two year history, has three simple missions:
